History

1979

Five founders established Machine Engineering Co., Ltd. (capitalized at JPY 8 million) in Misuzu, Ina, and began designing, manufacturing, and selling specialized cutting machines and tools.

1980

The company entered the field of specialized automated assembly machines as a comprehensive FA manufacturer, while advancing the business of specialized cutting machines.
The company developed standard units such as PPU. The company developed fly fishing reels (Marryat brand) and began manufacturing and supplying them on an OEM basis.

1981

In order to establish its position as an FA system manufacturer, the company introduced its own machine manufacturing and quality assurance system based on standardization, and started management with an emphasis on development.

1983

While the company continued to manufacture products for individual orders, it started manufacturing and selling products related to information equipment in order to achieve a mass-production, repeat-oriented management approach.
The company developed a tying vise for fly fishing and started OEM supply.

1985

The company was selected as a Nagano Prefecture Venture Business Enterprise. The company was awarded Fly Reel and Good Design.

1986

The company discontinued sales of dedicated cutting machines and specialized in manufacturing automated assembly systems.

1988

The company built a new factory to expand FA system production. The company spun off Famco Co., Ltd. (capital: JPY 5 million), a mass-production equipment product manufacturing group company.
The company established an overseas sales affiliate, ROBOTECH INTERNATIONAL LTD. (capital: JPY 5 million). The company received the 14th Invention Merit Award for its MEPAC parallel hand.

1989

The company spun off an FA system manufacturing group company, MEXS (capital: JPY 20 million).

1991

The company developed information media equipment and began supplying it on an OEM basis. The company increased its capital to JPY 40 million for MEXS and JPY 10 million for Famco.

1992

The company began selling electronic component automated assembly systems overseas. The company developed amusement equipment and began supplying it on an OEM basis.

1993

The company carried out a change of president. The company achieved total sales of 100,000 units of MEPAC parallel hand.

1995

The company established sales agents for the Dutch, Belgian and Luxembourg markets and for the German, Austrian, and Swiss markets, respectively.
Developed office automation equipment, etc. The company introduced an internal LAN (MEGNET).

1996

The company established distributors in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The company developed an automated assembly control system.

1997

The company carried out a change of president.

1998

The company celebrated its 20th anniversary and handed over MEG management from the founder's management to the incoming management executives. The company merged with Famco Co., Ltd. and MEXS Co., Ltd. The company increased its capital to JPY 90 million.
The company developed a linear guide type (high rigidity) MEPAC parallel hand and started OEM supply. The company improved the small-size PPU linear guide.

2000

The company developed a PPU small high-speed type. The company developed a PPU x-axis variable stroke type. The company acquired ISO 9001 certification, the international standard for quality management.

2001

The company developed a compact alignment unit 4-jaw rigid type. The company developed a thin indexing unit.

2004

The company obtained ISO 14001 environmental management system certification. The company developed and sold a front-to-back turnover unit.

2005

The company acquired 990 m2 of the adjacent land. The company built a new building for factory automation system, the second production building.

2007

The company carried out a change of president.

2008

The company celebrated its 30th anniversary and transferred MEG management to the next management team.

2010

The company developed and sold educational cam kits.

2011

The company began development of pickup units and development and sales of motion controllers for its own motor products.

2013

The company began developing and marketing a pitch changer unit.

2016

The company began developing and marketing cam pusher units. The company expanded the second production building.

2018

40th Anniversary

2020

The company acquired 4,700 m2 of the adjacent land. The company built the third production building.

2022

The company carried out a change of president.
